The diesel Colorado is proof that GM exes must read internet forums, because this is the perfect vehicle according to the entire internet.

I'm still leery about buying a GM vehicle, so I hope Toyota responds with a diesel powered Hilux/Tacoma or whatever they're going to call their next gen mid-sized truck.

Agreed. Now if Jeep read forums, we'd all be driving diesel Mighty FCs and life would be good.

I actually have a new Frontier. As far as I know, it's basically the same as the world market Nissan Navara which has several diesel options including a promising 3.0 turbo diesel. So everything except EPA certification is there. It would be reltively simple for them to integrate that into the next Frontier, or that holy of holys, a diesel Xterra.

The RoW Toyota diesels also make me jealous, but since the Taco and Hilux are more substantially differentiated, it might be a bit more work to get a D4D Taco, or maybe just have a single world truck here. One can hope!

The next gen Tacoma is going to be on a global Hilux platform. Hopefully that'll make it easier to convince Toyota that they need to be in the mid sized diesel truck game. I'll be one of the mid size diesel players if they do.

I am VERY excited about the diesel Colorado (especially the four door, 6ft bed). By the time it comes out I will have been in the work force for a year and a half. Being a natural frugal, I think I will have a nice down payment for one. My old 1990 S10 has been faithful, but I need to upgrade, and what a hell of an up that will be.
